TLDR: A Cloudflare AE who just started, still on ramp after 3 months, was terminated and recorded the call asking “I’m being let go for no reason?”
A Cloudflare Account Executive was let go recently during the Cloudflare layoffs that occurred this week. The AE was asked to join a call with two individuals she had never met before and provided notice of her termination.
The AE was 3 months into her role starting in October of 2023, asked to build pipeline and close deals. As a sales rep myself we know that it is extremely difficult to walk into a new company with a patch of accounts that are provided to us, that are usually terrible, and close things at rapid speed. Further the AE’s LinkedIn states she is a mid-market AE, which those deals can take up to a couple of months from top of the funnel to close.
During the recorded session the AE repeatedly asks “why was I let go?” in which the unknown persons speaking, most likely HR, refused to provide answers on the call.
