Your Prospecting Email Sucks, Here’s Why

TLDR: Your cold email game sucks and it’s because you think your prospect needs to know a ton of info, they don’t… keep it Short, Sweet, Personalized & to the Point

When writing a cold email here are some of the Do’s and Don’ts the Pipeline Press team recommend:

  • Assume all of your prospects read their emails on their phone, so make it easy to read on the phone. Test it out and if you have to scroll more than once with your thumb, that’s a technical foul
  • Keep your email length between 50-80 words maximum.
  • Remove filler words like “reaching out,” & “highly effective,” & “amazing ROI”
  • Stop talking about yourself
  • Add a call to action at bottom of your email “Is this of interest?” “Is this a problem you are currently looking to solve?”
  • Add problems other customers have faced
  • Add value your product has provided those same customers
  • Personalize, personalize, personalize
  • If you’re going to use ChatGPT, please edit afterwards for the love of all things
